What do we do?

City Councillors represent your interests on Birmingham City Council, in the decisions that they make and the policy they pursue. And hold the Executive to account for what they do and don’t do, in part by being members of Scrutiny committees. We can also serve on licensing and planning committees. Some of us sit on external bodies such as Centro and the Fire Authority.

Concern ourselves with your council related issues and problems.

We hold joint advice bureaux with the police on Saturdays at St.John’s Church, Walmley (from 10.30am to 12.30) The dates for 2018 are:

14th July, 25th August, 15th September, 13th October, 17th November, 15th December

plus home visits when necessary, as well as attendances at local residents meetings. We are easily contacted (see each councillor for details), and deal with a large number of emails and phone calls (and the occasional letter) regarding ward issues. The vast majority are responded to in 24 hrs.

We also have a close relationship with the Rt.Hon.Andrew Mitchell MP, so that issues relating to national government and nationally administered benefits can be passed on and swiftly dealt with.

Our town councillors, with whom we will be working closely, represent you on the new Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council.
